These laws and taxes are in effect at the current time in Rainbow Ridge, however, the council reserves judgement to make any changes deemed necessary at any given time.
Taxes
A tax of 1% of each property owners home equity will be paid every Monday in each home. Renters are exempt from this tax unless they own Community lots or Vacation homes.
Fees
Sims who go to University are charged $20,000 for the entire four years, minus what they earn in scholarships.
The family must try to come up with this money before the teen can attend, however in extreme circumstances the family can apply for a hardship loan and this will be repaid in weekly installments of ten payments, or in full when the student graduates.
A fee of $300 is charged for all marriage licenses. Weddings held on a community lot are charged a scale fee, depending on the venue.
Legal fees are charged for divorces, each spouse will pay $1,000 in an amicable divorce. If the divorce involves abandonment however, the responsible party will pay the remaining spouse $10,000 in compensation fees.
Town Ordinance Laws
Sims are charged $500 if their gardens and yards are not maintained properly.
A fine of $200 will be charged for every sim guilty of "Public Nuisance", omitting green clouds of stench, continual pranks, etc on community lots.
A fine will be issued to each sim involved in a public dispute. If the altercation was one-sided, a fine of $500 will be charged to the responsible party.
A less disturbing, small public argument between two or more sims will result in a Breach of the Peace fine of $250.
A fine of $250 will be charged for abuse of personal property (trashcan tipping, flamingo kicking).
Class E Theft (Stealing of the newspaper, gnome or any other thing not belonging to said sim) results in a fine of $500, and a public apology.
A fine of $300 will be charged for Disturbing the Peace on residential lots resulting in neighbors banging on the walls or the RRPD arriving as a result of a complaint.
A fine of $200 will be charged for every sim guilty of "Public Nuisance"; omitting green clouds of stench, continual pranks, etc. on community lots.
Negligence in Child Rearing resulting in a visit from Social Services will result in mandatory counseling for the parents and children, as well as a fine of $1000. If the children are removed
from the household all adults in the home will be unable to adopt in the foreseeable future.
Note: Based on the Three Strikes You're Out policy, all repeat offenders of any crimes risk a greater fine and/or jail time at Rainbow Ridge County Jail.
Town Council Members
We are pleased to announce that our very first Council Member, is Susie Mullins-Danger.
Susie worked her way up the career ladder in the Education field, and is currently the Minister of Education. We still have two positions left in the Education field, and many more in every other field. Rainbow Ridge thanks Mrs. Danger for her dedication to our children's educations.
